Children learn best with peers
Our Group Therapy Services
Apex Occupational Therapy provides group therapy to address self-regulation, social skills, emotional regulation, and anxiety.
We recommend that you make a Meet and Greet appointment prior to the first group if you haven’t already. This is also a great time to speak with us about your child and what you hope to get from the group. Meet and Greet appointments are held by phone or video.
(Find the group schedule here, check out the announcement banner on our website, or check our Facebook page.)
At the first session of each group we start by doing an informal evaluation, some rapport-building activities, and we review expectations before addressing the goals of the group directly.
Unfortunately insurance does not cover group therapy. You may pay with an FSA or HSA card. Payment plans are also available. We will happily set up a payment plan that works for you.
What they will learn
Self-Regulation (Preschool)
We work on transitions, playing with other children, taking turns, communicating wants and needs with words, following directions, and sensory needs.
Self-Regulation (School Age)
Learn strategies and tools to help with identifying and managing energy levels and emotional states. Social skills are also addressed naturally through participation in a group project.
Anxiety
We use games, pictures and play as therapy.
This group includes additional sessions for parents only to help you understand how you can best support your child.
